5 Elements Qi Gong Course

Living in harmony with the 5 elements

Welcome to the online course "5 Elements Qi Gong". It is my special pleasure to introduce you to my favorite Qi Gong method.

During the online course I will explain the theoretical background of the 5 elements and also show you practical exercises that will help you to raise your personal energy level to a new level.

Video: Living in harmony with the 5 elements

During the 5 Elements Qi Gong is a special form of Qi Gong. The 5 elements form the basis of this Qi Gong method. Equally important, however, is the yin-yang concept and the knowledge of the meridians.

But one thing at a time...

First, it is necessary to briefly explain what Qi Gong (sometimes referred to as Chi Gong, Chigong or Qigong) actually is. Qi Gong consists of the 2 syllables "Qi" and "Gong". "Qi" means as much as "life energy". "Gong" can be translated as "to work on." Qi Gong is a tool to work on one's life energy, to balance and strengthen it.

For this purpose, various movement exercises are used, which are performed in combination with conscious breathing. Such training is often referred to as body-mind training. Not only the body is addressed, but also the mind is trained and brought to rest. Because a constantly active mind is the source of stress with all its negative effects on body and mind.

However, Qi Gong is not a hard workout, but the opposite of it. The exercises are mostly easy to perform and not very strenuous. It is about relaxed movement and conscious breathing.

Qi Gong is suitable for everyone, no matter how old or fit you are. Qi Gong is not a workout in the strict sense. It is also not about performance. Rather, it is about learning to feel the body better and to "normalize" all its functions again, so that every organ, every gland, indeed every cell does exactly the task for which it is intended. Then a natural balance of all forces and elements is created in the body. And thus we are healthy on all levels.

The 5 Elements Qi Gong builds, as the name suggests, on the 5 elements. These are: Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. The concept of the 5 elements is also called the concept of the transformation phases. I would like to explain this to you with the following example.

Wood burns in the Fire and becomes ashes (Earth). In this earth we find Metals and ores. And on these in turn condenses the Water. Finally, the water is again the basis of the wood. And so the cycle closes, only to begin anew.

The cycle of the 5 phases of change

Due to our modern way of life there are always imbalances between these elements. For example, if one element is too dominant, another becomes too weak due to interdependence. Or vice versa. If one element is too weak, another becomes too dominant.

In the long run, this has a negative effect on our body as well as on our mind. I deliberately say in the long run. Because the elements are never completely in balance. There is always movement and imbalances. This is called a dynamic equilibrium. This is how everything in nature works. Constantly the balance must be sought, just like a tightrope walker. He will never move completely calmly on the rope, but will constantly search for balance. If, however, he can no longer maintain this at some point, he will fall out of balance, in the truest sense of the word.

If an element requires the majority of the energy over a long period of time, or receives too little energy, this will, sooner or later, create an energetic problem that will manifest itself on a physical or psychological level.

Inner balance through 5 elements Qi Gong

To keep these imbalances as small as possible and to provide again and again for balance between the 5 forces, is the goal of the 5 elements Qi Gong. The Qi Gong exercises are assigned to the individual transformation phases. There are exercises for the wood and the fire, for the earth, the metal and the water.

Thus, for example, in an exercise for the element wood, the meridians of the liver and gall bladder are specifically addressed. Each element is assigned 2 meridians, with the exception of the fire element, which is assigned 4 meridians.

Here is the assignment of the meridians to the respective elements:

  • Wood: liver and gall bladder
  • Fire: heart and small intestine, circulation and triple burner
  • Earth: stomach and spleen
  • Metal: lung and colon
  • Water: kidney and bladder

In our new "5 Elements Qi Gong Course"In the coming weeks you will learn 2 exercises for each element. We will start with the wood element. This is basically assigned the beginning and spring. We will learn 2 exercises that balance this element.

The Little Heavenly Circuit

In the video (see above) I also show you a first practical exercise, which is "Spinal Breathing" is called. The Wibel Column Breathing is one of the basic exercises of Qi Gong and is one of the most effective. It activates the 2 special meridians called the Governing Vessel and the Conception Vessel. These two meridians control all the other 12 main meridians. They have a superordinate effect on the entire energy system of the human being.

Collectively, they are also referred to as the "Little Heavenly Circuit."

The Governing Vessel, which runs up the spine at the back, controls the Yang meridians, i.e., Gall Bladder, Small Intestine, Triple Warmer, Stomach, Large Intestine and Bladder. The conception vessel, running downward across the front midline of the body, controls the yin meridians, liver, heart, circulation, spleen, lung and kidney.

The balance of these two control meridians has an extremely positive influence on health and vitality.

Try the exercise and resolve to practice it daily for 3 weeks. Preferably in the morning and in the evening. Do 8 repetitions of the spinal breathing shown.

If you have the following short Mediation Once a day, you can further strengthen the effect. It helps you to charge your energy system and release blockages at the base.

I have spoken of yin and yang in the previous paragraphs as if they were self-evident terms. Basically, they describe the fact that there is a counterpart for everything in the universe.

If you want to know more about this concept, learn more here about the Yin and Yang Backgrounds.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine they say:
"From the Tao, Yin and Yang were born. From these came the 5 elements. And from these evolved the 10,000 things of the world."

If you are aware that Tao can be translated as "divine origin", it is also easy to see that Yin and Yang have a very high priority, because they originate directly from the Tao. They basically represent the 2 polarities of the world: the masculine and feminine, light and dark, day and night, hot and cold, etc.

And now I wish you much joy and energy with our "Qi Gong 5 Elements Course".

Sincerely,
Wolfgang
