Acupuncture Point Pc 05

Helps with pressure in the chest and anxiety

Mediator — Jiān Shĭ

This acupuncture point is used when the heart channels are obstructed by "mucus". When mucus is mentioned here, it is to be considered as non-material. In TCM, this is referred to as, "phlegm obstructs the heart channels". Since the heart is the seat of the Shen (consciousness), in the case of an obstruction of the heart channels by phlegm, there is a feeling of mental clouding and confusion, which can express itself in confused speech and action.

This can manifest itself in relatively harmless symptoms such as inner restlessness, lack of concentration or forgetfulness. However, more severe problems such as manic-depressive states or epilepsy can also occur.
