The Heart Meridian

The Yin Pathway of the Fire Element

The heart meridian together with the Small intestine meridian the primary Fire element. The secondary fire element is formed by the two meridians heart circulation and triple burner. The fire element corresponds to summer and heat.

The heart meridian has a strong connection to the emotional level of the human being, since the heart is the seat of our Shen, which we can translate as consciousness, from the perspective of TCM. Shen is located in the heart and the brain.

Wolfgang's Pro Tip

Combine the two movement systems Meridian Yoga and Qi Gong and increase their effect. In the morning, when the body is still a bit stiff, you can start the day with 15 minutes of Qi Gong and get the energy you need. In the evening, you can let go of the day with 15 minutes of meridian yoga and regain your composure.

Qi Gong for balance of heart energy

Another very elegant and effective way to increase your personal energy comes from TCM. Qi Gong is a millennia-old art of movement, which is one of the 5 pillars of the Chinese medicine forms. The exercises are easy to learn and here I show you my 2 favorite exercises to balance the heart energy.

The heart meridian begins in the armpit with the acupuncture point He 01 and runs from there on the inside of the upper arm to the inner elbow.

There is the acupuncture point Ht 03  at the end of the fold, which is formed when bending the elbow.

From the acupuncture point of joy, as Ht 03  is also called, the meridian on the small-fingered forearm runs toward the wrist.

Here below the pea leg is the point Ht 07  in a clearly palpable depression.

Now the meridian moves over the ball of the little finger in the direction of the palm. It seeks its way to the little finger, where it ends on the inside, with the acupuncture point He 09, at the nail fold angle on the thumb side.
