When one speaks of digestion in TCM, the earth element is meant, with the two organ pairs stomach and spleen. The spleen also includes the pancreas. The digestive tract also includes the small intestine, which has the task of absorbing the ingredients of the food pulp into the body. The end of the digestive tract is the large intestine, which is responsible for filtering liquids from the stool.
Qi Gong has a positive effect on the entire digestive system. The exercises balance the individual meridians and free them from any blockages. The diaphragm is the muscle that massages the entire abdominal organs with every breath. Each time you inhale the organs are pressed a little and when you exhale they can relax again. This constant change, which happens 20,000 times a day, is a boon to digestion.
The mind is like the stomach. It should only be given food that it can digest.
