Wolfgang's Pro Tip

Combine the two movement systems Meridian Yoga and Qi Gong and increase their effect. In the morning, when the body is still a bit stiff, you can start the day with 15 minutes of Qi Gong and get the energy you need. In the evening, you can let go of the day with 15 minutes of meridian yoga and regain your composure.

Qi Gong for balance of stomach energy

Another very elegant and effective way to increase your personal energy comes from TCM. Qi Gong is a millennia-old art of movement, which is one of the 5 pillars of the Chinese medicine forms. The stomach meridian begins with Ma 01, which is located just below the pupil of the eye, and then runs down past the corner of the mouth to the temporomandibular joint. Here a branch goes upwards to the area of the "secret hair corners".

The other branch runs past the larynx down the neck to the beginning and the upper edge of the clavicle. Following this upper edge, it goes to the middle of the clavicle and from there through the middle of the nipples (Ma 17) to the 5th intercostal space.

Now the stomach meridian moves inward to the abdomen and runs here 2 thumb widths (2 cun) outside the midline past the belly button to the upper edge of the pubic bone (Ma 30).

From here it runs over the groin to the outside under the upper, front iliac spine. Now it continues along the outside of the thigh towards the knee.

The stomach meridian is oriented to the 2 muscle bellies M. rectus femoris and M. vastus lateralis of the M. Quadrizeps. It passes the outer edge of the kneecap (patella) and comes 3 transverse fingers below the lower edge of the patella to the best known acupuncture point, the St 36.

Once there, its course continues along the outer edge of the tibia via the tibialis anterior muscle to the ankle joint. St 41 lies in the middle of the anterior ankle joint space, between 2 palpable tendons.

Here it now continues to run between the 2nd and 3rd toes towards the end, which is at the outer end of the 2nd toe at the nail fold angle.
