This is an important acupuncture point to eliminate internal and external wind. Especially when it manifests itself in neck stiffness and headaches. In combination with Lu 07 it expels wind-chill. To expel wind-heat Gb 20 with LI 04 and TB 05 combined.
Gb 20 is an important point because it forms the transition from the spine to the brain. This point (occipital area) should be free of blockages so that the brain is optimally supplied and can work smoothly.
It also positively affects the vagus nerve when this area of the back of the head is relaxed. The vagus is a part of the parasympathetic nervous system, which calms the body and regenerates it.
